VEGAS 2022

On Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 (40 years after our original wedding ceremony), we drove to Las Vegas with our daughter Rebecca, Stephen’s sister Ellen, and Elise’s cousin Deb, to celebrate in a very special way! Above is the full video from the ceremony itself.
Above is a slideshow of our 40 years; as well as a video from Elise’s post-ceremony serenade.
Below are pictures from the entire experience – NOTE that you can click on each image for an expanded view.

On the way to Vegas, we had lunch at Peggy Sue's 50's Diner.

And we got some great pie!

And we got to meet a "practice" Elvis!

Then we checked in to our amazing suite at the Rio Hotel.

Complete with a jacuzzi, steam room, and massage table!

We had some fabulous hors d'ouevres and cocktails...

And then got ready to head out ...

Our first limo conked out and the driver had to call for a replacement...

But we were finally off!

Then back to the hotel...

Then we played a 40-year retrospective slideshow, and I surprised Stephen with a Vegas-style rendition of the song I had sung at our first wedding (and at our 20-year vow renewal). (To see those two videos - see above!)

And then we headed to Bobby Flay's "Amalfi" restaurant for dinner. We shared five awesome appetizers: Crispy Squash Blossoms, Burrata, Soft Scrambled Eggs, Bufala Mozzarella, and Cremini Mushroom Polenta (with mascarpone, Parmigiano, and white truffle oil) - as well as their famous bread.

Next we shared five amazing entrees: Orecchiette (eggplant bolognese with basil and ricotta); Pasta "Rags" (all-arrabbiata with Calabrian chile and bufalo mozzarella); Crushed Pea Agnolotti (with lemon, ricotta, and mint); Spaghetti Zucchine (with shishito pesto); and an Argula & Butter Lettuce Salad (with marcona almonds, asiago cheese, pink peppercorns, and a red wine vinaigrette).

Yummmmm!!!!

We then finished it off with five extraordinary desserts: Warm Date Cake (with toasted hazelnut sauce and Trapani salt); Lemon Lemon Lemon (cake, custard, and crisps); Chocolate Budino (with hazelnut croccante and crema fresca); Blackberry Crostata (with honey-mascarpone gelato), and Caramel Espresso Tiramisu (with mascarpone cream). (But the picture didn't get taken until we had demolished them all!)

Relaxing in our room the next morning, before breakfast and the drive home.
